Coronavirus, message from the Dante Auckland

Dear Dante Members and Students,

As you know the Coronavirus (COVID-19 novel coronavirus) has badly affected much of the world, and has hit Italy hard.

While it’s early days for New Zealand, the Dante is taking steps to minimise the potential spread of the virus here.

We’re closely following the advice put out by the Ministry of Health, which you can find, alway updated, here.  This is the first place that you should check, especially if you plan to travel or arrive from overseas, or if you are not feeling well (the National Telehealth freephone service is also available 24/7 on 0800 358 5453).

None of our teachers and other staff have been to Italy or overseas recently, nor any of our students, as far as we are aware. We are also avoiding any contact with recent arrivals, who have been told to self-isolate.

If you are not feeling well or are unsure about those with whom you may have been in contact , please don’t visit the Dante rooms or attend classes, events and other activities that are held at our location (Freemans Bay Community Centre) or elsewhere (for example at the University of Auckland).

Thank you for your cooperation,

Kind Regards,

The Dante Team
