All tickets to the Rialto Cinema’s September 29, Sunday afternoon 2 pm screening of “The Big Heart of Girls” (“Il cuore grande delle ragazze”) include a complimentary glass of bubbly upon entry to the cinema! Sit back and enjoy a slice of Italian country family life! Associate Professor Bernadette Luciano (University of Auckland) will provide a brief introduction to the film and festival highlights.

Set in the 1930s the film by veteran multi award-winning Pupi Avati, “The Big Heart of Girls” is a charming and entertaining tale of love, compromise and the role of women in Mussolini’s Fascist Italy inspired by the story of the director’s own grandparents.
